Displaced journalist and author trying to regroup
Eventually, I want to become an e-publisher and create an on-line school for criticism (literary, theatre, music, etc.). But, most immediately, I need to keep my family afloat. So if you contribute, do so knowing it'll go for rent, and oil changes as well as website designers and faculty. The former is traditionally known as a "salary" but I don't want to pretend I'm not asking for charity. Charity that will lead to self-sufficiency, but charity nonetheless.
I abandoned my first attempt at this last year because, among other things, it seemed more prudent to focus on finding a "real" job and develop my projects on the side. An attempt like this requires regular blogging and marketing work; I decided to nail down a paycheck first. I went to Harvard; how hard could it be?
Naive, huh?
Well, after years of trying (and given the realities of being a 52 year old single mom) it's pretty clear that there's no 'real' job out there for me, my CV be damned.
So, I'll be blogging here; I hope you'll contribute and/or just send me the odd shout-out.
Thanks.
